The Fond du Lac Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa is one of six Chippewa Indian Bands of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe with over 4,200 Tribal members. The Fond du Lac Reservation, which spans around 154 square miles, is located in what is now present-day northeast Minnesota.
The Fond du Lac Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa have been working on a variety of climate resilience and mitigation projects since 2007, including climate resilience planning, renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, community outreach, and education. The Fond du Lac Band participated in the project to create the Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Plan: 1854 Ceded Territory Including the Bois Forte, Fond du Lac, and Grand Portage Reservations.
