The Yakama Nation is a federally recognized Tribe of the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation with more than 6,300 enrolled members. The Yakama Reservation, which spans more than 1,130,000 acres, is located in what is now present-day southwestern Washington State.
The Yakama Nation has been planning for the impacts of climate change since 2014 when it began working on the Climate Adaptation Plan for the Territories of the Yakama Nation (2016).
