The Samish Indian Nation (Samish, or Xws7ámesh, means “the people who stand up and give”) is a federally recognized Tribe and Coast Salish Nation with around 2,065 enrolled Tribal members. The Samish Indian Nation has headquarters located in present-day Anacortes, Fidalgo Island, in Washington State, with lands in a variety of other locations.
In 2017, the Nation published the Samish Indian Nation Climate Adaptation Planning Framework and a variety of communications tools to support its ongoing climate resilience planning efforts.
