The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians is a federally recognized Ojibwe Nation Tribe with around 3,415 enrolled members. The Lac du Flambeau Reservation, which spans across a checkerboard area of 86,630 acres, is located in what is now present-day northern Wisconsin.
The Lac du Flambeau Tribe has been doing climate adaptation mitigation and planning work since 2009 as part of the Lac du Flambeau Tribe Climate Resilience Initiative, including climate-informed hazard mitigation planning, which describes their community engagement process, the development of a climate adaptation plan, and a species-specific vulnerability assessment.
